Halifax Fan’s excellence achieves recognition at BEEA

Halifax Fan BEEA Award

Halifax Fan has a global reputation for customising its fans to meet its customer’s most exacting specifications. The Syngas Induced Draft Fan, has been awarded Highly Commended in the Mechanical Product of the Year category in this year’s British Engineering Excellence Awards, a benchmark for great British engineering organised by Eureka! And New Electronics magazines.

The Syngas Induced Draft Fan has been developed hand-in-glove between Halifax Fan’s Dr Ian Parker and the customer for a demanding pyrolysis application turning raw wood into combustible fuel pellets.

An off-the-shelf product just wouldn’t cut the mustard for this application. High temperature and pressure events, combined with particulates, soot and tar meant the evolution of the fan design into a distinctly new product with wide application in the pyrolysis market.
